Main Header
Secondary Header
So this is the obligatory first post. Just to see how things look and how easy formatting and interacting is. I have my doubts in various areas but we'll see how it goes. Hopefully it will be flexible and yet powerful enough for my needs. Of course, it can be created and edited as HTML and CSS can be used in the master template so it should do the job... the question remains how easy it will be...
Prime example and the main thing I want to test is how images are inserted. By default, I see they are positioned centrally and at a 'medium' size. By setting it to align to the left allows text to flow on the right and reducing the size to 'small' may do the job I need nicely. But then what happens when a viewer clicks on it? Do they get to see the original image? Does it open directly or in a 'lightbox' type overlay - I've read about problems earlier in the year...
Writing blogs
I'm also interested to see how easily I can recreate a standard format for my blog entries so they all look the same. Ultimately I would like to be able to reformat the CSS and have all the existing posts adjust together which I can not do with my current blog
General reformatting
The easiest way to achieve this is to use the various header tags but I'm not sure that is really appropriate when highlighting story titles within a piece of text. It's easy enough to select the different header types when writing the blog post without having to access the HTML but they can not be applied to selected text, only the whole paragraph
Use Style Classes
By using Style Classes rather than Header tags I can control them more efficiently and without causing confusion with accessibility features. However, I will have to apply them manually in the HTML editor. Imagine

Use HTML Editor
Previous experience suggests that I may be better off using the HTML editor all together since I know the basics. The WYSIWYG editor is fine for simple post formatting but there isn't a great deal of features like columns, tables, frames etc.
In Conclusion
There are two key advantages with Blogger over my Weebly blog. The first is the HTML flexibility so I can standardise formatting. The second is the labels which will appear with each post rather than just as a list of what is available. The whole Blogger interface is more basic, less fancy but allows for similar customization to what I'm used to and isn't difficult. I think I might just be happy with the move!
